The working week ends on a fine and very warm note for southern regions as a ridge of high pressure holds on here, but further to the north it will be cloudier and cooler with a risk of some rain at times as a cold front moves into the north, this cold front eventually bringing fresher conditions to many areas during the weekend as it sinks slowly southwards.
It's not such a chilly start to the day across rural regions with many places starting the day off with temperatures in the low-mid teens. For many parts of England and Wales it will be a mostly fine day with plenty of sunshine around although the sunshine will turn hazy at times with cloud increasing across northern regions. It will become warm in the sunshine with top temperatures in the range of 24°C to 28°C with high UV and pollen levels. For Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland there will be more cloud around, the thickest of this coming across the north and west of Scotland where there will again be some persistent periods of rain at times. Temperatures in the north will be closer to 14°C to 18°C, but the far north will be a degree or two cooler still.
A band of rain and drizzle will sink south across Scotland tonight with cooler, drier and clearer conditions following on from the north. The rain will reach much of Northern Ireland and northern England by dawn, but further to the south it will stay dry with some clear spells with temperatures remaining rather muggy here. That band of rain and drizzle continues to sink southwards tomorrow, reaching southern parts of Ireland, Wales, the Midlands and East Anglia by the evening, weakening as it does so. It will remain fine and very warm to the south whilst to the north it will turn brighter but it will be cooler and fresher.
