The new working week is here but as far as the weather is concerned there's very little change with low pressure dominating and set to do so for some time yet. Another frontal system moves in from the west today bringing more rain with it, but unlike yesterday's system which brought some localised flooding to parts of East Anglia, today's will move through quite steadily.
It's a dry start to the week across eastern regions of the UK and there will be some early brightness in places once any mist or fog patches clear, but thickening cloud is moving in from the west ahead of outbreaks of rain that are already affecting many western regions of the UK and Ireland. This band of rain, heavy and persistent in places and accompanied by brisk southerly winds, will continue to march its way eastwards across all areas today, reaching East Anglia and southeast England by this afternoon. Drier and brighter conditions will then follow on from the west although further showers, heavy and blustery at times, will follow on into north-western regions as the westerly winds pick up. Temperatures today won't be anything too exciting, maximums generally in the range of 11°C to 15°C with the wind taking the edge off those values.
The last of the rain will clear eastern England this evening and then many and central regions of the UK will see a dry night with some clear spells. However, showers, heavy and blustery in nature, will rattle into northern and western areas as the winds become quite strong but it won't be a cold night anywhere. This takes us into a breezy day tomorrow with showers in the west breaking out more widely. Many regions are likely to catch a shower, but some more sheltered spots will see a lot of dry weather whilst others end up pretty wet.
