A warmer feel to the weather this weekend across many parts of Britain and Ireland with humidity levels rather higher than they have been thanks to low pressure sitting to the southwest drawing in air from the near continent. However, for some eastern coastal regions much of the weekend will be rather cool and grey thanks to those onshore winds.
It's a rather grey start to Saturday for many regions with a fair amount of low cloud and mist around. Showery outbreaks of rain are continuing to feed in from the east, these locally heavy in places, but not everywhere is catching the showers and for some southern counties of England along with western parts of Scotland it is actually a bright start to the day with some sunny spells. Skies will tend to brighten in many areas as we go through the morning and into this afternoon with warm sunny spells developing for many areas. However. further scattered showers are likely to break out, especially across parts of Scotland, southern Ireland, parts of Wales and southwest England where some heavy and thundery downpours are possible although not everywhere will catch them. Top temperatures will vary quite widely today, ranging from a cool 12°C to 14°C along overcast north-eastern coasts, 16°C to 19°C in the showery areas and a warmer 22°C to 25°C in the sunnier regions.
A rather warm night follows with scattered showers pushing northwestwards for a time before tending to become confined to more south-western regions overnight. Low cloud and mist will become more extensive along eastern coasts, spreading further inland during the course of the night so this means a rather grey start to Sunday for central and eastern regions with eastern coasts remaining cool and overcast. Elsewhere and some warm sunny spells will develop quite widely but so will some scattered heavy and thundery downpours, mainly towards more western regions.
